Joshua Carr, Ph.D.
Director
Josh Carr is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Texas Christian University and the Director of the Neuromuscular Physiology Laboratory. He obtained his doctorate in Exercise Physiology at the University of Oklahoma. His research interests revolve around the acute and chronic adaptations that occur with exercise in health and disease.
Alisa soloveva
Master's Graduate Assistant
Alisa Soloveva received a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science at Winthrop University. She is currently a member of TCU Women's Tennis and is recovering from ACL replacement surgery. Before her injury, Alisa was nationally ranked top-80 ITA and earned various conference and university recognitions.
Caleb voskuil
Doctoral student
Caleb Voskuil received his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and his Master's degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Kentucky. His current research interests include the examination of cross-education, hypertrophy, and fatigue elicited by resistance training. Caleb is from Pecatonica, IL, a small town in Northern Illinois. While not in the lab, he enjoys bodybuilding and is an avid sports fan specifically of the University of Kentucky and all sport franchises in the state of Wisconsin.

Master's Graduate Assistant
I'm originally from Lebanon, CT, but have lived the past five years in Upstate NY. I have a BS in Health & Human Physiological Sciences from Skidmore College. Research topics that intrigue me the most include human performance optimization (especially sex differences) and musculoskeletal injury reduction/prevention in athletes and first responders. If I'm not in the lab, you can find me listening to podcasts, exploring nature, working out, playing sports, or doing anything adventurous.
Channing Burney
Master's Graduate Assistant
Channing Burney is a native Texan, born and raised in Amarillo. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Arkansas (Woo Pig) where she was also an active member of Kappa Delta Sorority and C3 college ministry. Her research interests include muscle development in relation to injury prevention and rehabilitation. In her free time she enjoys being active by playing sports, working out, hiking, or going on walks with friends.
